In a mortal ambush, unknown armed assailants attacked the tax staff in Daraman Tehsil of Ismail Khan, martyr to four taxpayers officers and a civilian, while his vehicle was on fire.
According to the Karizat assistant commissioner, the personnel of Levies de Khanozoi, accompanied by a private driver, was on his way to recover a stolen truck when they were attacked by unidentified armed men.
The assailants opened fire, lit the Levies vehicle and killed the five occupants on board.
The officers had traveled from Pishin to Di Khan to investigate the robbery and detain the culprits when they were attacked near the Sherani border district. The private driver was also killed in the attack.
The bodies of Levies Martyred staff were transported to the hospital before being sent to their native areas for burial.
The assistant commissioner confirmed that an investigation into the incident had begun.
The officers of the LEVIES MARTIROS were identified as Noor Ahmed, Dawood Khan and Muhammad Rashid Khan, while the two civilians included Bilal Ahmed and the private driver.
