Pakistan’s Minister of Information, Atta Tarar, said that the country has exceeded the ‘misfortunes’ of previous leaders, referring to former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his nearby associates.

Speaking in Lahore, Tarar criticized the former PTI government, stating that a previous prime minister was convicted in a case that involved the sale of state gifts.

“A prime minister used to sell expensive gifts, while current leadership is working with transparency,” he said.

The minister added that the government is committed to fulfilling their promises to the public, while the rivals face the consequences of their past actions.

In response, PTI spokesman, Sheikh Waqas, dismissed Tarar’s comments, saying that the case of 190 million pounds was not corruption but “the auction of justice.”

He accused the government of exploiting legal cases for propaganda.

“If they had any shame, they would not use the case to deceive the public. Every time these people are in power, the country faces poverty and hunger, ”said Waqas.

The case of 190 million pounds remains a dispute point between the ruling government and the PTI, with both parties accusing each other of political victimization.

PTI changes to agitation mode, plans protests after the failed conversations with the government

Previously, the secretary general of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Salman Akram Raja, announced that the “system” would soon realize that he cannot advance without the party founded by Imran Khan.

His comments arrived a day after PTI rejected the offer of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to resume stagnant conversations, which led to speculate on political instability in the next few days.

PTI, which is now changing to the “agitation mode,” said plans to organize district protests on alleged appearances in last year’s general elections.

The president of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa of PTI, Junaid Akbar, also mentioned a possible demonstration in Islamabad’s D-Cowk.

He previously declared that PTI’s desire for dialogue was misunderstood as a weakness and revealed that the party planned to reorganize its leadership by leaving aside the moderate figures in favor of the intransigent.
