Web browsers are so omnipresent that once you settle for an option, their default value often becomes a sad part of the furniture of their computer. At some point in the last 20 years (honestly I can’t tell you when), I changed Google Chrome and I have never bothered to look elsewhere since then.
I have tried the strange alternative, including Microsoft’s Edge and Opera, but never with the conviction that one day I could change. I also need Google Chrome for work, so having a separate personal browser has never really felt an option.
That was until Opera released his new Air Opera browser. It is the first world browser built around full attention. Beyond safety, safety and speed, Opera Air is designed to feel better while sailing on the web. As a technological writer, I can happily report that the Internet can sometimes be a miserable place to live, so when I saw that Air operates it was available in early access, I finally decided that it was worth trying to get rid of Chrome for the last time. It was not disappointed.
After maybe 10 minutes, I had seen enough to know that Opera Air is definitely staying installed on my PC and that I will abandon Chrome as my personal browser. Here are three of the characteristics that convinced me to jump from the ship.
Impulse
Except in brief bursts, I really have trouble working in silence, and for years, I have experienced with the use of different reproduction lists and background sounds for white noise in my internal monologue and helped me concentrate. I have tried everything, from Cyberpunk Synthwave Music to Medieval Bardcore.
Opera Air puts productivity centered music at your reach right in your browser. These “impulse” are fixed to the sidebar. There are 19 different beans to help improve several mental states. Binaural rhythms (two tones of slightly different players in each ear so that its brain perceives a third frequency) includes Theta waves for deep meditation and creative inspiration and alpha waves for relaxation. There are also environmental sounds such as rain (this will not have much game time in Scotland), forest, ocean and even urban sounds such as trains or crowds of coffee.
There are a lot of configurations, and you can adjust all aspects, from the moment to the frequency and the sound that is being reproduced, all controlled by a mini ingenious and uncomfortable player, and my first impressions are extremely positive.
Pause
When it comes to being sedentary in your desk, either for work or game, standing or sitting for too long can start having a fairly negative impact on your health. That is why we recommend the best standing desks and running tapes under desk. And taking a break gives you regular reminders to do that exactly.
Opera Air has a built -in set of full attention exercises, which include breathing programs, neck exercises, meditation and full -body scanning tuning. Think about it as standing reminders on your best Apple Watch, a soft thrust every hour to focus your body and mind again.
That crypt interface
When I first installed Google Chrome so many years ago, I was impressed how simple and clean it was. Now, it is full of buttons and icons like any other browser. Opera Air is the first browser I have seen in years that is actually seen clean and simple, going back to the old Chrome character that Google has lost along the way.
I love the sidebar, which is clean and minimalist. Even hides a ton of excellent configurations and fast access tools. I love the glassy appearance that has windows tones, and the calm wallpapers add to the sensation of Zen.
Get early
The best thing about Opera Air is that it is still in early access, so there are many more adjustments, configurations and characteristics to come. I cannot recommend it enough if you are a Windows or Mac user who realizes a change of rhythm of Google Chrome.
In addition, you get all the other excellent opera characteristics, including its free integrated VPN, advertisement blocker, tracker blocker and native browser AI ARIIA, full of chat GPT-4O, Gemini 1.4 and Image 3 to only one click away. Happy conscious navigation!
