A year and a half ago, Greg Brooks Jr. was a potential NFL prospect, captaining the LSU football team. Today, it is tied to wheelchairs and can barely speak.
In September 2023, Brooks said he felt dizzy and vomited in practice. He said the team diagnosed it with vertigo, but the symptoms never decreased.
It was not even more than a month after Brooks was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent emergency surgery.

However, during surgery, Brooks said he suffered from several blows, and that he now eats, walking and writing due to the operation.
“He is in LSU, one of the best universities in the United States. Would he have thought that his best interests would not be in the heart? No,” said Brooks’ father, Greg Mr. Morning America. “
“Honestly, I thought it was false. As, it was incredulous. Like a nightmare he couldn’t wake from,” said little Greg. “
However, Greg Mr. added that he has not had news of anyone at school “specifically [head coach] Brian Kelly, “since October 2023, around the moment Greg was diagnosed.

The Brooks family filed a lawsuit against LSU last August for negligence, saying that the school did not handle the situation correctly, nor doctors who operated in Brooks Jr. described to do so.
The lawsuit also claimed that LSU’s staff told Brooks to play football despite feeling ill, and threatened to take away their starting point if he did not.
“Greg will probably need attention for the rest of his life for the injuries he suffered as a result of the negligence of his suppliers,” says the demand. “Obviously, Greg will never play football again, and probably can never work and/or take care of himself without the help of others.”
LSU established a donation fund at that time, but the demand says that the funds were never transferred.
Brooks’ demand appoints the Our Lady of the Lake hospital, where he underwent his surgery, as accused.
“Due to the patient’s privacy laws and pending litigation, we cannot comment on specific people or situations,” said the hospital in a statement at that time. “The Neuro -Surgical team of Our Lady of the Lake is among the most experienced in Louisiana and provides our patients with the best opportunity for a positive result in any circumstance.”
“While LSU cannot comment on ongoing litigation, Greg Brooks remains in our thoughts and prayers while continuing to work through the rehabilitation process,” said the university last October.

He played in the first two LSU games of the 2023 season after adapting to the 14 LSU games in 2022. The Tigers lost the tit title against Georgia in 2022 but won the Citrus Bowl on Purdue. Brooks had 6 cup in 2022.
Brooks transferred to LSU after the 2021 season after spending three seasons in the University of Arkansas. If everything went as expected originally, it would probably have finished its NFL rookie season.
