The Hague: A guest at a Dutch hotel next to the sea won more than he negotiated when he opened his room to find a large gray seal on the floor.
The surprised staff called an association of animals in Vlissingen, southern the Netherlands, who said it was an unusual call despite the fact that they often receive strange requests.
“It was a strange view, the guests stopped nervously outside and the completely relaxed seal that gave a doubt,” the association on its Facebook page, completed with photos.

The seal had become “quite grumpy due to its dream of disturbed beauty” and the animal rescue team placed it in a special basket to move it to a more common habitat by the beach, the group added.
Despite their relatively placid appearance, the seals can become aggressive and bite if they are provoked, the association warned.
Valentijn Damen’s hotel employee told local media Omroep Zeeland: “Just when you think you’ve seen everything, something like this happens.”
Damen said the woman had no resentments after claiming her room.
“He found everything a fascinating experience. It’s also his birthday today, so he thought it was a good gift.”
