NYT STRANDS Today (game #340) – The answers
The responses to today’s threads, game #340, are …
- FRANC
- WILLPOWER
- DRAWING
- Miles
- CHASE
- THROW
- ROBIN
- JIMMY
- Spangram: Names
- My qualification: Easy
- My score: Perfect
I spent this puzzle drifting, first thinking about what links all these names: the comedies of sites of the 70s. Elvis Presley Hangers-on? Finally, I decided that they were all names that were also words for other things. Everyone sounds like very solid reliable names too. I wish I knew that someone named Chuck, I bet they would be excellent.
I thought Jimmy was the stranger, until I remembered that it is an excellent word to force something open with a lever. Meanwhile, in Scotland, “Jimmy” is what you call a man whose name you don’t know.
How did you do it today? Avise me in the comments below.
Yesterday Nyt Strands responses (Wednesday, February 5, game #339)
- LATEX

- DANDRUFF
