Punjab CM approves scholarships for other provinces

Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved the Honhar Scholarship program for students from other provinces, said Express News.

During a meeting, Maryam Nawaz, while presiding over the session, instructed to increase the number of laptops to 110,000 for students in Punjab and also directed the establishment of a dedicated aid line for the beneficiaries of the scholarship program.

The main minister has also extended the scholarship scheme to students from other provinces, establishing the same eligibility criteria as for Punjab students. To receive a laptop in Punjab, a minimum of 65% eligibility has been established.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the scholarship and laptop program are the rights of each child and the government’s responsibility.

She declared that education and youth development are the true investments for the nation, expressing their desire that each child receives a laptop.

He added that the scholarship and laptops are also the right of students from other provinces, including suad Kachemira, Gilgit-Baltistan, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In addition, he commented that any student who meets the merit standard should be able to apply to good universities, and the government covers the rates. “I think like a mother and I want to change the fate of each child,” he said. The criteria for scholarships in Punjab will remain for students from other provinces.

She said there would be no obstacles in providing funds for any scheme for students. The meeting also approved a one -day VC conference and a technological exhibition in Punjab.
