LAHORE: Pakistan Football Federation Standardization Committee (PFF), President Haroon Malik has said that due to the dead point between FIFA and the newly elected PFF Congress, the International Football Association can conditionally suspend Pakistan.
The president transmitted the development while reporting the Permanent Committee of Interprovincial Coordination of the National Assembly (IPC). He said that this will make Pakistan at least lose his international participation and detention of FIFA’s financial support for PFF.
“FIFA wants to make some amendments to the constitution of PFF to align it with international standards. In recent efforts, most of the members of the recently elected PFF congress have not agreed the FIFA proposals,” said Malik.
He also informed the Permanent Committee on the electoral process within the PFF from the level of the district onwards and reported that all elections have been completed and that the elected members of the Congress supervise the next phase.
Malik also stressed that, for the first time, the PFF participated in the 2023 Olympic qualifiers and advanced to the second round. The Committee appreciated the efforts of the National Federation to promote football at the Olympic level.
