‘PML-N, PPP hit the country’

Rawalpindi:

The vice president of PTI, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, has said that like the founder of PPP, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, he is remembered as the architect of the 1973 Constitution, the existing leaders of the PPP, as if Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, They will be remembered for disfiguring it.

“The PML-N and the PPP have given an irreparable blow to democracy in the country. First we witnessed the disintegration of the country in 1971. Now, we are witnessing that it goes towards another fall,” the PTI leader who is imprisoned In Lahore’s Kot Lakhpppat’s jail said Thursday.

Qureshi, who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country during the PTI government, was talking with journalists in Rawalpindi, where he had been taken to attend a judicial hearing.

Speaking with reference to the letter from the founder of PTI Imran Khan to the Army Chief, General Syed also Munir, said he had heard of the epistle but did not read it. “We should look at Imran Khan’s intention, since he wants to solve problems,” he said. On February 3, one of Imran’s lawyers, Faisal Chaudhry, revealed that the former prime minister has written a letter to the general also, criticizing the establishment’s policies and asking for a review of his focus on national security and governance.

The letter, sent from Adial prison, highlighted Imran’s concerns about what he described as a growing disconnection between the army and the public.

Imran argued that “the establishment is supporting those who have benefited twice from the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO)”, a reference to past political settlements that allowed leaders to evade corruption positions.

Qureshi said that national consensus is essential for reforms in the country, since no individual has only the ability to address these challenges. He said that current leadership should think of the nation with a quiet and rational mentality.

“There is the need to eliminate the divisions of hatred and the bridge. Forgiveness is necessary, and we must advance. At this time, a national agenda is needed: there must be an important national agreement through which all political parties agree in an independent and autonomous electoral commission.

“An independent and autonomous electoral commission cannot harm anyone; if someone loses a choice today, they can win in the future. In the same way, an independent judiciary and a free medium will not harm anyone. You can always find failures, but Now is time to focus on positive aspects, “he said.
