A group of police officers in Lahore has been accused of extorting money from a call center.

The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Civil Police Station Lines, where a group of police, with a total uniform, allegedly raided a local call center, said Express News.

According to the first information report (FIR), two officers, accompanied by their accomplices, entered the facilities of the call center, wielding weapons.

Then they forced the staff to withdraw RS 300,000 (approximately USD 1,500) from an ATM.

According to the reports, the officers, after obtaining the money, took laptops from RS 200,000 and other valuables before fleeing the scene.

The victim, a woman named Amber Nawaz, presented the FIR, which led the civil line police to investigate the matter.

Police managed to arrest five suspects, including two of the alleged police officers involved. The authorities have begun more legal procedures against the suspicious arrested.

Last week, the Police and Citizen Police Link Committee arrested two suspects to allegedly demand extortion from the owner of a hospital in the area of ​​the Billal Colonia de Karachi. A dispenser who worked at the hospital was also involved in the crime.

The suspect, Tauseef and Uumer sent an extortion slide to Dr. Aqeel, the owner of the General Medical Hospital of Akhtar, within the remits of the Police Station of the Billal Colony. The suspects had demanded RS0.8 million of the doctor. Together with the extortion note, the defendant had also sent a 9 mm bullet in an envelope like a threat in addition to sending a letter to Dr. Nazia and Dr. Aqeel threatening to kill them if extortion money was not paid.

The mobile phone and the SIM card used in the extortion case have recovered from the accused possession. The police have also recovered the threatening conversation data.

UMER, working as a hospital dispenser, provided information about the owner and the clinic to the main defendant Tauseef. According to the agreement, Uumer was supposed to obtain 50 percent of the amount of extortion to provide the information
