Prohibited political meetings such as section 144 imposed in Islamabad

The authorities in Islamabad have reinforced the prohibition of political meetings, warning about severe action against offenders.

A spokesman for the Islamabad district administration confirmed that section 144, which prohibits public assemblies, is still in force to maintain order.

“Any unauthorized meeting or political activity will meet a strict action,” said the spokesman, and urged residents to adhere to the law.

The measures are aimed at guaranteeing public safety, authorities said, and added that no exceptions will be made for violations.

Citizens have been advised to avoid participating in illegal assemblies to avoid any legal consequence.

PTI will celebrate the rally on Swabi instead of Lahore on February 8

Previously, Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) had announced that any confrontation or discomfort on February 8, the first anniversary of the general elections of last year, will be refrained from last year, and instead has presented plans for a large concentration in Swabi .

PTI had previously sought permission to celebrate a demonstration in mine-e-pakistan in Lahore, but the attached commissioner rejected the request, citing concerns about the maintenance of law and order.

Lahore DC Syed Musa Raza explained that the decision was made to avoid interruptions, since significant events in LaHore were scheduled, including a Cricket party, an international speaker conference and a horse and cattle show, all required a wide security staff .

Instead, PTI announced plans for a great demonstration in Swabi, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, urging supporters throughout the country to attend.

PTI’s secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, declared in Islamabad that the party would only celebrate a demonstration in Swabi, while the protests would be carried out at the level of Tehsil and the Council of the Union, clarifying that there were no plans for chaos .
