Several people, including Meher Bano, the daughter of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, were arrested during a protest in fine, as a police repression against the demonstration.

According to Express News, the arrests were made after protests took place despite the fact that section 144 was enforced in Punjab, which prohibits meetings, demonstrations and processions.

The police were deployed in key areas of fine, including Ghunghat Chowk, Chungi No. 9, Nawan Shahr Chowk and Chok Kacheri, where they protested.

Meher Bano and Zahid Bahar hashmi, along with several party workers, led the protest before being arrested by the police. The protest dispersed rapidly when arrests were carried out, and the arrested people were taken to police stations in prisoners.

The Punjab Government has imposed section 144 in response to PTI’s call to protests throughout the province. The government movement to control the rally is part of the ongoing measures to prevent greater disturbances amid the growing political tensions.

Yesterday, PTI announced that any confrontation or disturbance will refrain on February 8, the first anniversary of last year’s general elections, and instead has presented plans for a great concentration in Swabi.

PTI had previously sought permission to celebrate a demonstration in mine-e-pakistan in Lahore, but the attached commissioner rejected the request, citing concerns about the maintenance of law and order.

Lahore DC Syed Musa Raza explained that the decision was made to avoid interruptions, since significant events in LaHore were scheduled, including a Cricket party, an international speaker conference and a horse and cattle show, all required a wide security staff .

Instead, PTI announced plans for a great demonstration in Swabi, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, urging supporters throughout the country to attend.

PTI’s secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, declared in Islamabad that the party would only celebrate a demonstration in Swabi, while the protests would be carried out at the level of Tehsil and the Council of the Union, clarifying that there were no plans for chaos .
