Hiroyuki Sanada has shared an exciting update in seasons 2 and 3 Shōgun.
Sanada won the best actor in a dramatic series in the Critics Choice Awards 2025. While he was in the backstage in the awards, the creators of the Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks series were joined by the creators of the Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks and the trio spoke about the next seasons of the program.
Healed told him Deadline: “In season 1, [Toranaga] It didn’t become a Shōgun yet. So, I would like to see him become the leader of Japan. That is my hope. ”
Marks then shared a great update on the progress of the next seasons, saying: “Now we are leaving the writers room. We have also finished with the 10 episodes and now we have our end. ”
He continued: “That allows us to start discovering how we are going to shoot this. But we are very excited about the plan, ”he said. “I think what should be removed, more than anything, it’s how, I hope people are surprised with some of the great ideas as soon as the first episode of the second part. So we will start there and see where it leads us for future stories. But we are really excited about that, especially for [Hiroyuki Sanada]. ”
Shōgun, Based on James Clavell’s novel in 1975 of the same name, the dramatic series was also taken, the best support actor in a dramatic series and the best cast actress in a dramatic series awards in the Critics Choice Awards.
