Islamabad:

The Secretary of Central Information of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Sheikh Waqas Akram, has praised the “overwhelming response” of the nation to the one called by the supreme of the imprisoned party Imran Khan to observe the first anniversary of the “electoral cold” of February 8 “like a black day.

In a statement on Sunday, Waqas praised the public for standing firm with what he called the “oppressive tactics” of the government, which demonstrates unwavering support for its leader through a record public meeting on Swabi.

Denunciating the repression of the government, Waqas condemned the arbitrary detention of leaders and workers of PTI, as well as the violent suppression of peaceful protests.

He said that the demonstrations were a legitimate response to the “Mega theft surveys committed on February 8, 2024, in broad daylight.”

He demanded the immediate liberation of all the leaders and workers of PTI imprisoned, stating that an “aroused nation cannot be intimidated or silenced through brutal and inhuman tactics.”

Waqas criticized the two dynastic political parties, PPP and PML-N, saying that the nation had repeatedly given them opportunities, but they had only prioritized their own interests, enriching themselves at the expense of the people.

He recalled that Imran Khan had predicted for a long time that the Sharif and Zardari families were never in conflict for the welfare of the country, but for their own political profits.

“Imran Khan had foreseen how these political dynasties would eventually join PTI in a desperate attempt to save their diminished political fortunes,” he said.

He accused the PPP and PML-N of forming a “marriage of convenience” due to their interwoven interests, and added that their so-called disagreements were nothing more than a distraction.

Regarding the repeated threats of the PPP to leave the government, Waqas dismissed them as a ploy, stating that the government was using NAB to reopen corruption cases against the leaders of the PPP to maintain control.

It also ridiculed the “bittersweet relationships” between the two parties, labeling their public disputes such as mere and eye. “Both parties focus only on safeguarding their own interests, without a genuine concern for the well -being of Pakistan or the well -being of its people,” he said.

In addition, he claimed that his ultimate goal was to dismantle PTI keeping Imran Khan, party leaders and workers in arbitrary detention, suppressing dissent and undermining the democratic process.

Waqas condemned the government not chosen for subjecting Khan to “an inhuman treatment, including solitary confinement and stripping him of all constitutional and legally guaranteed privileges as former prime minister.”
