Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has announced an alternative strategy after the permission is denied for its manifestation planned in mine-e-pakistan.
According to the sources, the party has devised the ‘Plan B’, focusing on generalized protests in Punjab in case the location of the rally remains inaccessible, said Express News.
PTI’s leadership has decided not to celebrate the rally anywhere alternative within Lahore.
Instead, they will organize protests in several Punjab districts. The sources within the party revealed that the party members and the leaders will be instructed to celebrate demonstrations in their respective constituencies.
In Lahore, the protests will be carried out in key places, including Liberty Chowk, Azadi Chowk and Mall Road.
PTI leaders have declared that by denying permission for the demonstration, the government makes its protests more successful.
A few days ago, PTI decided to celebrate a public demonstration in mine-e-pakistan on February 8, for which a request to the Lahore administration was submitted.
According to Express News, PTI has decided to celebrate an energy show in Greater IQbal Park.
The party has appointed the Chief Organizer Aliya Hamza to supervise the event, and has submitted a written request to the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore in search of the approval of the demonstration.
The request describes that PTI wishes to celebrate the demonstration in the Greater Iqbal Park Ground and a NOC (without objection certificate) is sought from the authorities.
The organizing committee for the rally includes Aliya Hamza, EITHERLeader of apposition at the Punjab Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar and Ali Ijaz Butt Assembly.
PTI’s sources have declared that if permission is not granted, the party plans to organize a national protest in response.
The president of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chapter (KP), Junaid Akbar, had warned about a national campaign against the ruling coalition, citing the lack of government’s commitment to resolve political tensions through dialogue.
Speaking to a local television news channel, Akbar said that the disposition of the opposition to negotiate was erroneously interpreted as a sign of weakness. His comments occurred after PTI jumped the fourth round of conversations with the coalition government led by the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), led by the coalition on Tuesday, effectively staging the negotiation process.
PTI and the ruling alliance began conversations in December last year to reduce political temperature in the country.
However, the dialogue process was derailed when PTI accused the government of not forming judicial commissions to investigate the protests of May 9, 2023 and the offensive against PTI’s protesters in Islamabad on November 26, 2024.
