- Samsung’s subsidiary, Solum, shows several ‘bar’ screens designed for nightlife and high -end retail spaces in ISE 2025
- A network screen interface (NDI) for high -resolution video transmission can handle screens up to 8K and 65 inches, and will be used to provide live AI assistance in retail trade
- Electronic shelf labels (ESL) could allow retail companies to compete with real -time online stores
Solum, a digital signaling company left Samsung a decade ago, offered a variety of striking ideas for retail and commercial spaces in its stand in ISE 2025.
Showing that there is more in the digital signage than only 16: 9 screens, Solum showed a wall of options in unconventional shapes, for example, it has a screen that has 35 inches wide but only six inches high.
These ‘bar’ screens are high resolution so that they can present clear and vibrant texts and images.
The ‘bar’ descriptor could also refer to its use case, since a spokesman explained that these products are aimed at locations such as bars, clubs or high -end retail locations that seek to create a modern and avant -garde aesthetic.
To illustrate this, Solum mocked a wine store with bottles on glass covers, with adjacent bar exhibitions that reflect the appearance of wine. He also showed a Spectra 6 E ink screen with a wine advertisement that seemed identical to printing.
Solum also showed its range of electronic shelf labels (ESL), which are more ecological than printing.
Thanks to E-Ank, a store could update them at the same time, which allows brick and mortar stores to compete with online retailers through dynamic price changes in real time.
High efficiency and energy resolution, low latency
Techradar Pro He was told that a single rechargeable battery can feed an ESLS shelf, and that, if updated once a day, the battery would last for ten years.
To allow them to increase efficiency for multiple daily updates, the representative said they were exploring other technologies.
While they would not be surprised what they were, it seems likely to be considering wireless energy solutions, such as Wi-Charge technology on which we have previously written, which would effectively permanently feed the ESL so that they can be updated as often as necessary No implications of time or cost.
Another interesting technology in the program was a large screen designed for customer service, with an assistant to answer pre -established questions and a range of network screen interface screens (NDI).
NDI screens allow high -resolution videos to be sent through a network with extremely low latency. A suggested use case was that sports stadiums show that the live game was carried out at that time, but without noise or comments of the crowd, for the benefit of those who look on screens in hospitality.
The NDI standard can handle a video of up to 8K, and Solum has compatible screens in sizes of 43, 50, 55 and 65 inches.
