Rawalpindi:
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has urged the president of the president of Pakistan, Yahya Afridi, to defend the rule of law, Imran’s sister, Aleem on Monday.
“Imran Khan has asked the President of the Supreme Court to decide if he wants secret [to get any relief]”
Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned since August 2023, wrote a letter to the president of the Supreme Court Yahya Afridi and the head of the Constitutional Bank of the Supreme Court, Judge Aminuddin Khan, on January 30.
In the 349 -page epistle, the former prime minister addressed issues related to human rights violations, alleged electoral fraud and the arrests of PTI workers, particularly around November 26, 2024.
Imran Khan declared that between November 24 and 27 last year, a large number of PTI workers were arrested. He also claimed that the hospital records were sealed and then altered to manipulate facts about a government repression against a PTI rally.
He criticized the Judiciary for not providing justice despite repeated requests against electoral fraud and continuous human rights violations in the last 18 months.
Later, the founder of PTI also sent two letters to the Army Chief, General Syed also Munir.
Speaking with reference to the letters, Aleema Khan cited Imran saying that they should not be interpreted as an attempt to reach an agreement with the establishment.
“He said that the letters to the Army Chief were not for an agreement, but to transmit a message, since the gap between the army and the public is expanding.
“He said that the nation and the army must join terrorism. The founder of PTI also declared that he would write another letter next week,” he said.
