The president of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will arrive in Pakistan on February 12 (tomorrow) on an official two -day visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the outer Martido (FO) confirmed in a statement on Tuesday.
According to FO spokesman, Shafqat Ali Khan, President Erdogan would be accompanied by a high -level delegation, including ministers and senior officials, as well as corporate leaders.
During the two-day visit, from February 12 to 13, Prime Minister Shehbaz and President Erdogan co-charted the seventh session of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council of Pakistan-Turkiye (HLSCC), the spokesman added.
“At the end of the session, a joint declaration and several important agreements/Mou is expected to be signed. The two leaders will also address a joint press commitment, ”said the statement.
He added that President Erdogan will also have bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz and President Asif Ali Zardari.
Together with Prime Minister Shehbaz, the visiting dignitary will go to the Pakistan-Turkiye Business and Investment Forum, gathering investors, companies and leading entrepreneurs on both sides.
It is pertinent to mention here that HLSCC is the highest level decision -making forum, which provides a strategic direction to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
There are a series of permanent joint committees (JSC) under the HLSCC, which cover sectors that include; Commerce, investment, banking, finance, culture, tourism, energy, defense, agriculture, transport, communication, IT, health, science and technology and education.
Until now, six HLSCC sessions have been held, said FO spokesman, added that the last session was held in Islamabad from February 13 to 14, 2020.
Pakistan and Turkiye are obliged by historical, fraternal and long data ties. The spokesman said that the visit of the Turkish president and the celebration of the seventh session of the HLSCC would serve to further deepen fraternal relations and improve multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
