The problem of slow internet speed in Pakistan was addressed in the National Assembly, where the Parliamentary Secretary of Information Technology provided clarification on the matter.

During the session chaired by Vice President Ghulam Mustafa, the members of the Assembly expressed concerns regarding the slow Internet service in the country. The discussion took place during the time of the question, highlighting the growing frustrations among users.

Responding to the concerns, Ti Sabheen Ghoury secretary assured the house that the Internet speed would improve in the middle of the year. In addition, he announced that the launch of 5G Services is also planned for the same period.

She explained that multiple factors contribute to slow connectivity on the Internet in the country. However, efforts are being made to address these problems and improve general digital infrastructure.

During the session, the Peoples Party of Pakistan (PPP) MNA Agha Rafiullah expressed his frustration for bad Internet service, stating that he even downloaded a video had become a challenge. Similarly, MNA Shagufta Jumani referred to a previous comment from the president of PPP, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, pointing with humor that some mysterious “fish” always seem to sign up and damage Pakistan’s Internet cables.
