The Supreme Court of Azad Jammu Kashmira (AJK) revoked on Wednesday the disqualification of former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, which allowed him to dispute the elections to any public office.
The Court accepted the appeal of Ilyas against its disqualification, which was granted by the Superior Court of AJK in a case of contempt of the court.
Ilitas had sought the forgiveness of the Court and was granted relief after a complete bank of the Supreme Court headed by the president of the Supreme Court Raja Saeed Akram Khan finished the sentence. The verdict makes Ilyas eligible to participate in the elections after a month.
