The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has completed a successful test flight for its first air ambulance service, using a MI-17 helicopter that will become to offer emergency medical services.
The health advisor, Ihtisham Ali, participated in the test flight and was informed about the conversion of the military transport helicopter manufactured by Russia in an air ambulance, said Express News.
He confirmed that the provincial government is adapting the MI-17 helicopter for the Public Emergency Medical Evacuations Service, with the necessary medical team and the modifications that are installed to meet international standards.
In statements to the media, Ihtisham Ali emphasized that the Government, under the special directive of Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, is using the MI-17 helicopter for the first time to meet people’s health needs.
“This helicopter has already been instrumental in the delivery of medicines and evacuating patients to safer places during emergencies, saving thousands of lives,” Ali added.
The air ambulance service will not incur additional positions for the public, since the MI-17 helicopter is owned by the provincial government. It will become the first state -of -the -art air ambulance system in the country, which offers high quality efficient services for medical emergencies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In addition, the climate in KP remains cold and dry with temperatures that fall as low as -3 ° C in some areas, according to the weather department.
The weather forecast indicates that the majority of the province will experience cold and dry conditions in the next few days, with a partial cloud coverage expected in areas such as Chitral, Dir and Swat, said Express News.
