OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus Open 2 will not release in 2025.
In a note published in the OnePlus Community Forum, OnePlus Open Project Manager, Vale G. said: “We have carefully considered the moment and our next steps on folding devices, and we have made the decision not to launch a folding this year.”
“While this can be a surprise,” G. continued, “we believe that this is the right approach to us at this time,” noting that Oppo, OnePlus’s sister company, is now “taking the lead in the folding segment” With OPPO finds N5.
The original OnePlus Open was launched in October 2023, and it was expected that a successor, presumed as the Open 2 OnePlus, would reach the shelves at some point in the coming months. A special edition version of the Open, the OnePlus Open Apex Edition, was also launched in August 2024.
