Smith, who spent most of his career in the Hall of Fame with the Cowboys, suggested that he would adopt a patient approach to Schottenheimer’s training mandate in Dallas.
“I’m going to reserve most of my comments for a later date, but I am soaking it at this time,” Smith told Sports Lens at the end of last month. “What has happened and trying to analyze where we are going from here and how you will see. Jones contacted the former Cowboys star and the current coach in Colorado Deion Sanders football during the hiring process. Later, Jones characterized his interaction with Sanders as a conversation with someone with whom he had a personal relationship instead of a formal work interview.
