The leaders of the opposition party fired on the side against the electronic prevention amendment of electronic prevention (PEC), qualifying a law to gag the media and usurpate the fundamental right of the freedom of expression of the people.

Going to a seminar on ‘Challenges faced by the media in Pakistan’, organized by the Federal Union of Pakistan Journalists (Pfuj), Jamiat Ulema-E-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman called Peca Act a bland act.

Fazl said the government should not make a code of conduct for journalists, but that journalists must prepare it. He added that each dictator had violated the holiness of the Constitution, democracy and Parliament.

Speaking in the seminar, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), Mahmood Khan Achakzai, said that false people had been taken to Parliament, who were only taking orders and not representing people. He praised Fazl’s efforts in the approval of a constitutional amendment 26 balanced.

He added that even if the current government withdrew the PCA law, it will not be acceptable. He said the movement against the government should not stop. The Peca law, he said, was taken to eliminate false news and asked what the remedy was when the government lied to people.

The chief senator of Majlis-E-Wahdat-E-Muslimeen (MWM) Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said that a pillar of the legislature fell, when the parliamentarians were collected at night. All amendments that had passed were not possible if political parties were not a hypocritical.
