The Parliamentary Secretary of Finance, Saad Waseem Sheikh, assured the National Assembly on Friday that the Government has no plans to impose additional taxes.
Speaking during the National Assembly questions on Friday, Sheikh clarified that the Government has no plans to introduce additional taxes, underlining efforts to meet the income collection objectives of the year.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, expressed his confidence that the new telecommunications entities will soon enter the Pakistan market.
She confirmed that the Telecommunications Authority of Pakistan (PTA) has already begun to broadcast virtual network licenses, racing the way for greater competition in the telecommunications sector. He added that a spectrum auction is scheduled for the middle of the year, even more strengthening the telecommunications panorama.
In other updates, the parliamentary secretary of Planning and Development, Wajiha Qamar, announced the completion of the first phase of the seventh census of agriculture, whose objective is to support the decision making informed for the growth of the agricultural sector.
In addition, the Parliamentary Secretary of Education, Farah Naz Akbar, shared that the Cambridge education system will be introduced into four public sector schools in Islamabad from April, marking a pilot project for future expansion.
