Islamabad:
The PKMAP head, Mahmood Achakzai, on Friday announced his resignation from all the Committee of the National Assembly that included the Treasury members, and advised the main opposition party, PTI that did the same.
Speaking to the persons of the media at the House of Parliament, Achakzai said that he would no longer sit with the members of the Government in those committees. “I give up all the committees that include government members,” he said. “I also ask the PTI to also leave these government committees.”
Achakzai suggested that the PTI should celebrate a separate parliamentary session outside the Chamber and raise public problems there. “The speaker will be Asad Qaiser. Opposition members are more than 100, they should tell the public that this is their true representative party.”
Achakzai repeated his previous statement that it was a “false Parliament, since the PTI mandate was stolen” in last year’s general elections. Answering a question, he said there was no prior example that a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) visited the courts.
Speaking on the occasion, the president of the PTI, the lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, said that the performance of the National Assembly was disappointing, despite the efforts of the opposition to continue the procedures. Condemned the denial of the floor to the PTI in the Chamber of Representatives of Parliament.
“We tried to find a political solution to political problems in the Production Committee and the Negotiation Committee. Today in the National Assembly, we did not obtain a point of order, which we condemn,” PTI president told reporters.
In addition, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the head of the Sunita Ittehad (sic) council said the opposition reached the assembly completely prepared to discuss all the issues, but they were not given the opportunity. He challenged the Government, said that if he wanted a clash with the opposition, he would get one.
