ASEEFA Bhutto Zardari, a member of the National Assembly and prominent leader of the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP), has become the only legislator among 314 members to reject his monthly salary.
The daughter of former President Asif Ali Zardari and the sister of the president of PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was chosen without opposition from NA-207.
Since he assumed office as a member of the National Assembly (MNA) last year, ASEFA has refused to accept any government salary.
In June 2024, only two months after his swear, ASEEFA announced that he would not take any salary or subsidy.
Last month, Pakistan’s first lady and the president of Sindh Peoples Welfare Trust (SPWT) ASEEFA Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the inauguration ceremony of the Popular School, a transformative educational initiative aimed at promoting quality education and youth empowerment.
The SPWT, founded by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in February 1987, continues with its legacy of edifying communities through education and medical care.
ASEEFA Bhutto Zardari was accompanied by Foreign Minister of Szabist and Minister of Health, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, together with the Board of Trustees of SPWT, including Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Abdul Aziz Edhi, Khursheed June, Lubna Khalid and Sustan Shaikhh .
The town school will be built in Karachi and is designed to provide a state -of -the -art educational environment. In the first phase, the project will include facilities for primary and secondary schools, an administrative block, ensuring a modern and holistic learning experience for students.
