The Pakistan Green Initiative has officially launched in Cholistan with the aim of transforming agriculture and offering comprehensive support to farmers.
The launching ceremony was attended by the Chief of the General Personnel of the Army, Munir, Punjab Prime Minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Musadik Malik.
The key components of the initiative include the opening of a Commercial and Green Services company, an intelligent agricultural farm and an agricultural research center and facilities.
The Green Agri Mall and Service Company will provide farmers access to high quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides to discount rates, delivered directly to its doors.
In addition, the initiative will offer affordable rental options for agricultural machinery, including drones.
Meanwhile, a 5,000 -acre smart farm was also launched, equipped with modern irrigation and agriculture techniques, to promote sustainable agriculture and higher yields with lower costs.
The Agricultural Research Center will provide soil tests, laboratory services and will serve as a center for agricultural education and research throughout Pakistan.
Maryam Nawaz stressed that the projects mark the beginning of an agricultural revolution in Punjab, ensuring the growth of farmers and the prosperity of Pakistan. He also distributed land allocation letters to children of wounded martyrs and veterans.
In his speech, the head of the Army, Gen also Munir, said that Punjab has become the agricultural power of Pakistan. He said that Punjab’s leadership role and his farmers in modern agriculture is commendable.
General Syed also appreciated the efforts and successes carried out under the green corporate project of the Punjab government in a short time, describing them as encouraging and a progress omen.
He said that the army will continue to fully support the country’s economic development.
