Woods revealed last week that his mother, Kultida, had died at age 78.
“I planned to look at him this week, but I’m not ready,” Woods said in a statement. “I did my best to prepare, knowing what my mother would have wanted, but I am still processing her loss.
“Thanks to all who have approached. I hope to be in Torrey later in the week and appreciate the goodness continued since my mother’s death.”
The organizers of Invitational Genesis paid tribute, since the seventh hole for 4 presents a white flag.

The white flag is writing in a wink to Tiger’s late mother and her faith.
Kultida practiced Buddhism, according to a publication on the social networks of the PGA tour. Buddhists keep the color white and number 7 in high esteem.
It is believed that white represents lighting, knowledge and purity. Kultida was born in Thailand, and the country’s flag has a pair of white stripes, which is believed to symbolize Buddhism.
