The authorities arrested five people supposedly part of an organized gang responsible for the sale of illegal international SIM cards in the country.

The FIA ​​cyber crime wing rounded these people during a rawalpindi raid. The FIA ​​team was assisted by PTA officials.

According to the FIA ​​spokesman, the defendant sold the SIM cards through social networks. These SIM cards, he said, were used in illegal activities, including rescue, extortion and online scams.

The defendants were identified as Muhammad Mudassir, Muhammad Amir, Muhammad Zakaria, Syed Noor and Wajih Mahmood.

During the raid, the FIA ​​confiscated of its custody 335 SIM cards and five mobile phones.

The FIA ​​has initiated an investigation of the accused. The agency is also carrying out more raids to arrest its accomplices, added the spokesman.
