Karachi: The Metropolis will organize three games of the ICC champions trophy at the National Stadium today (Wednesday), February 21 and March 1.
As the city prepares for the inaugural match, which marks the beginning of the first CPI event from the 1996 Cricket Cricket World Cup organized by the country, between the national side and New Zealand, the Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic plan to facilitate Cricket fans and travelers.
The eight team tournament, which includes 15 games, will run from February 19 to March 9, in three places, Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi, in Pakistan and Dubai.
The eight teams are divided into two groups. Group A presents Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh, while group B is made up of Afghanistan, South Africa, England and Australia.
The hosts Pakistan will face New Zealand in the curtain collector on February 19 in Karachi, while the successful clash among archirrival Pakistan and India is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
According to the deputy inspector of traffic, Sir Shah Suleman Road will remain open for vehicular traffic during matches.
Special parking arrangements have been made for Cricket fans, who can park their vehicles at the National Training Center and China.

Those who come from Karsaz will be aimed at these designated parking areas through the route under the high step.
Heavy traffic will be allowed to move from Sohrab Goth to NIFE, from Liaquatabad no 10 to Hassan Square, and from PP Chowrangi to the university road.
However, the routes from Karsaz to the stadium, Millennium to New Town and the stadium signal to Hassan Square will be closed to heavy vehicles.
Traffic excavation has urged viewers not to park their cars or motorcycles on roads or service lanes, advising them to use only the designated parking areas.
