Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced that consultations are ongoing regarding the regulation of digital currency in Pakistan.
The statement was made during a meeting of the Economic Advisory Council, which was chaired by the Prime Minister and attended several council members.
The participants expressed their confidence in government policies and provided suggestions for future growth, which were welcome by the Prime Minister.
In his speech, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that economic stability is a collective effort, not the work of any individual. He reiterated the government’s commitment to sustainable economic development and highlighted efforts to promote trade in the region.
The Prime Minister declared that the Government aims to improve the competitiveness of local industries in international markets, with an approach in increasing exports and creating jobs. He also mentioned initiatives to establish green data centers and improve telecommunications services, particularly in remote areas, to increase IT exports and the number of independent workers.
The prime minister emphasized the ongoing efforts to regulate the digital currency in Pakistan and expressed the importance of converting today’s discussions into processable plans.
During the meeting, the participants praised the economic measures of the government, noting that the country’s economy is stable and advances towards growth. They pointed out that prices stability has led to greater production, and the government’s action plan is being recognized by global economic institutions, investors and the business community.
They also appreciated the government’s commitment to institutional reforms and improvements in the fiscal system, which have encouraged a more friendly business environment.
The meeting also highlighted an increase in exports within a month, which participants saw as a positive indicator of economic recovery. In addition, it was considered that repression against smuggling contributed to the growth of exports.
The meeting was attended by several prominent figures, including Jahangir Khan Tareen, Saqib Shirazi, Shehzad Salem and several federal ministers, including Ahsan Iqbal and Frog Tanveer Hussain.
Previously, Prime Minister Sharif met with a parliamentary delegation of Bahrain of 11 members led by Ahmed Bin Salman al-Musallam, president of the Bohrein Representatives Council.
During the meeting, the prime minister extended an invitation to Bahrain’s investors to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, emphasizing strong bilateral ties between the two nations. He also transmitted his best wishes for King Hamad Bin Isa Bin Salman to Bahrain Khalifa and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations.
