QUETTA:
The Security Forces launched an extensive investigation to track and stop the gunmen, who ambushed a bus traveling on the Barkhan-Dera Highway Ghazi Khan in Baluchistan on Tuesday night and killed seven people.
According to local authorities, the attackers, estimated as a group of about 40 armed men, stopped several vehicles near Rakhani in the district of Barkhan. After verifying the identity cards of the passengers, they forcefully eliminated seven individuals from one of the coaches and killed them, they added.
Barkhan’s attached commissioner, Waqar Khurshid Alam, confirmed that all victims came from Punjab and were on their way to Lahore when the attack occurred. After the incident, the authorities tightened security in the affected area to avoid any recurrence of such violent acts.
Meanwhile, the security forces initiated extensive investigation to track and detain the perpetrators, such as Baluchistan Prime Minister, MIR Sarfaraz Bugti, ordered a large -scale investigation into the incident. He condemned the attack in the strongest terms, labeling it as a “cowardly terrorism.”
