Global Venture Capital and the Private Capital firm Insight Partners has revealed the suffering of data violation that resulted in stealing confidential data from the company.
The company published a statement in which he said: “Access of unauthorized third parties” on January 16, 2025. The apparently unidentified threat actor agreed to certain information systems through a “sophisticated social engineering attack” .
“As soon as this incident was detected, we moved quickly to contain, remedy and start an investigation in a matter of hours,” the announcement said. Insight added that he notified the police and their interested parties, warning them that they are attentive and that security protocols “regardless of having shared compromised data.”
Ongoing research
The company claims to have successfully expelled attackers, stating: “There has not been an additional interruption in Insight operations as a result of the incident.”
At the moment, Insight is investigating the attack and its possible effects, so details about the data committed are not yet available. The company said it hired cybersecurity experts, a “forensic and forensic service expert”, and external legal advisor, whose work “will take several weeks.”
At this time, the company does not believe that the attack has a material impact on portfolio companies, information funds or other interested parties.
