- The NVIDIA RTX 5050 GPU has been seen on laptops of play together with the RTX 5060
- HP Victus 15 Entry Notebooks will have these Blackwell GPU
- It is likely that the RTX 5050 is a graphics card only for laptop, as with the generation of previous love
Far from the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, and the continuous problems of stocks around these GPUs, we have had another sighting of the RTX 5050 (and 5060) at the other end of the Blackwell line.
However, in this case, these are mobile graphics cards for notebooks, no desktop models.
Videocardz managed to obtain a specifications sheet for laptops Victus 15 (FA2) HP game that reveals that these devices will have GeForce RTX 5060 and NVIDIA RTX 5050.
This seems to confirm the existence of these graphics cards, but as always, we must be cautious around the filtered material that can be using obsolete information (or even be falsified).
The new Victus 15 specification also presents the CPUs of the 13th Intel generation, complementing the GPUs of the Blackwell laptop with sufficient processing power for good performance. However, this contrasts with laptops RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 with RTX 5080, which will use some of the new Ultra Ultra Ultra processors.
Note that the RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 GPUs have not been officially confirmed by NVIDIA (for desktop PC or laptops), and Blackwell’s announcements made in CES 2025 were missing.
It seems likely to arrive at some point, of course, but the RTX 5050 will probably be a GPU only for laptop, based on the rumors we have heard so far. (They are the mobile part, and there is nothing that really suggests a desktop graphics card, although that does not rule out the possibility).
The RTX 5050 GPU has a Trump card in DLSS 4
Considering the RTX 5050 (which I reiterate it’s not Officially confirmed by NVIDIA) position as the lowest level option for a Blackwell portable computer GPU, it will face a hard competition. Particularly from Strix Halo Apus of AMD, which fills a serious grunt with its integrated graphics for laptop (or hand hand).
However, Nvidia has a secret weapon here, namely DLSS 4, which will certainly be useful to give RTX 5050 more thrust. I have already highlighted how much of a change of play is the scale technology, improved by jumps and limits thanks to its new model of transformative and generation of multiple frames (MFG), which improve stability and image quality, and increase the box speeds, respectively. (With PC games that admit technology, of course).
That does not mean that the RTX 5050 will not work well enough to a resolution like 1080p, but the reports suggest that it will only use 8 GB of VRM, which is now seen unstable for the AAA games today (and certainly in the future). The old box generation technology introduced with RTX 4000 GPU had ghost problems along with the input latency headaches: these inconveniences have been improved with MFG.
For those with a budget, laptops RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 enhanced HP Victus 15 gaming can end up being a reasonable option.
