- GoPro updates the maximum 360 degree camera with modest hardware updates
- New 360 modes added to the QUIK application of Gopro, including object monitoring
- A great price drop reduces the list price to $ 349.99 / £ 349.99 / AU $ 599.95
Gopro has announced a 360 degree camera, but it is not the Max 2 that we have been waiting for years. No, it is a maximum renewed with a couple of hardware settings, and a very welcome price drop.
The new camera has an improved assembly system for compatibility with all tripod 1/4-20 supports, in addition to the latest enduro battery of GoPro to improve battery life, and that is new. However, the ‘new’ Max comes with a considerable price drop, with a new list price of $ 349.99 / £ 349.99 / AU $ 599.95.
It has the same image manufacturing skills as the original Max, which includes 5.6k video of its twin lenses with full 360 degree coverage. However, Gopro has improved its QUIK application for the MAX with new 360 degree features, including monitoring of orderly AI objects that maintains its selected subject in the center of the action.
We have not yet tried the new modes in the application, but 360 degree video editions can be a time sink, so any intelligent feature that simplifies the process is welcome.
Refreshing a five -year chamber with minor hardware adjustments, in the middle of the backdrop of a very delayed successor, feels like a disconcerting decision by Gopro. So what should we do with Max relaunch?
Will we ever see the Gopro Max 2?
The most important news here is the fall in prices compared to the original Max, a fall of about a third. Gopro’s hand was forced here, because his old -fashioned maximum camera cost the same as the Superior Insta360 X4 at the top, the best 360 degree camera available with powerful features that include 8K video.
We are eager to turn the Improved Quik application: in addition to the monitoring of intelligent objects, it also offers a frame of keys to establish precise views, camerafx for camera cinematographic movements, soft automatic transitions between clips, editions to individual clips and a framework – Record export tool of its videl clips. Combined, these new skills could provide an Insta360 Boating Edition Experience.
However, updating the Max only serves to increase the question: Where is Max 2? It has been delayed again and again, and we wonder if it will ever materialize.
I still hope we see the new and best 360 degree camera of GoPro in 2025, and at this point it will have to be a great update, with an 8K video and more to effectively rival in Insta360’s x4. The main manufacturer of action cameras generally keeps its most exciting releases for September, so it could be a realistic scenario: we will make sure to share any Max 2 update when we obtain them.
