Rawalpindi:
Despite the warning of the president of PML-N, Nawaz Sharif, to stop any attempt to create an “artificial political crisis,” the PTI announced plans to launch a protest movement after Ramazan and reaffirmed its commitment to form a Great opposition alliance.
The president of PTI Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Junaid Akbar Khan, expressed these views while talking to the media outside the Adina’s jail after a scheduled meeting was denied with the founding president of the Imran Khan party. He was flanked by other party leaders, including Hamid Raza, the opposition leader of the Punjab Assembly, Aamir Khan Bachar and Shandana Gulzar,
Junaid emphasized that PTI leaders would respond to their president’s call regardless of government restrictions. He dismissed the statements that the party leaders were avoiding prison visits, stating that they remained firm in their support. He also reiterated the commitment of the party to form a great opposition alliance and organize protests after EID.
PTI leaders did not rule out the possibility of a sitting outside the Adiala jail if necessary.
On Wednesday, Nawaz said that people would no longer allow anyone to launch a key in the work of national progress. He stressed that Pakistan’s progress will not be derailed by “groups that are not familiar with the principles of politics and democracy.”
Raza criticized the government, saying that the political discourse had deteriorated and accused the family of Punjab Prime Minister, Maryam Nawaz, of past ethical political tactics. He said the establishment would no longer support the burden of current rulers.
Raza also commented that PTI leaders were deliberately prevented from meeting with the founder of their party, qualifying it as a violation of constitutional rights. He said that some figures within the government tried to deceive the public by portraying opposition leaders in a negative way.
Bachar condemned the authorities for making them wait hours before rejecting their request for meeting. Hatalized the “government tactics” and accused the titular regime of imposing an illegitimate administration. He refuted accusations that PTI was responsible for indecent political behavior, stating that it was the leaders of the ruling party who first participated in little ethical political attacks.
PTI leaders also highlighted the case of Waqas Arslan, whose wife supposedly suffered a spontaneous abortion due to police brutality. They demanded the responsibility of the Prime Minister of Punjab and the PGI. They warned that the anger of the people against the government was growing, which could be dangerous for the democracy and stability of the country.
