KP, Punjab Face about Imran’s meetings

Peshawar/Lahore:

The Punjab governments led by KP and PML-N led by PTI faced Friday by access to the Adiala prison, with the first criticizing the restrictions to meet with Imran Khan imprisoned, while the second eliminated the protest as’ policy policy’.

The KP Information Advisor, BarrĂster Saif, has strongly condemned the restrictions on meetings with the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, qualifying it as a clear sign of the desperation of the Government.

In a statement, BarrĂster Saif said that an imprisoned Khan has left the “illegitimate government” insomnia, claiming that the purpose of prohibiting meetings and imposing other restrictions is to press it to make an agreement.

However, he said that the government should understand that “Imran Khan will not be part of any agreement as Nawaz Sharif did.”

The KP advisor also accused the “mandate government-speech” of not only violating fundamental human rights but also committing contempt to the Court.

“The prohibition of meetings is raising serious doubts and has caused a deep concern among party workers,” he added.

He demanded the immediate survey of the restrictions on meetings with Imran Khan.

He also pointed with Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz, saying that his words and actions contradict each other. “She talks about providing facilities to Imran Khan in her speeches, but the reality is completely different,” he added.

‘PTI playing the victim letter’

On the other hand, Punjab Minister of Information, Azma Bokhari, refuted the statements of any restriction to meetings with Imran Khan, saying that the family, lawyers and leaders of the party of the imprisoned leader continue to know him as usual.

“The Punjab government has not imposed any prohibition of meetings with the founder of PTI,” said Bokhari, responding to the comments of KP Barrinter Muhammad Ali Saif’s information advisor.

He added that those who make such statements expect prisons to work as amusement parks, where anyone can visit at will without regulations.

“When the Tehreek-E-Fafas [PTI] He runs out of letters, they begin to play the ‘Victim Letter’, “he claimed.

In an apparent reference to the missives of Imran to the Chief of the Army, he added that writing letters has not secured or ensure any agreement for the party.

Bokhari also criticized PTI for “executing propaganda campaigns” against the people they appeal for relief.

She claimed that around 50 members of PTI in London protested during the visit of the head of the Army, aligning with foreign agendas. “The part that claims to represent the Pakistani abroad has seen all their calls rejected by them,” he said.

Bokhari added that PTI’s policy remains incomplete without referring to Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz.

Meanwhile, PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president Junaid Akbar presented a petition in the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC) who seeks permission to meet Imran in jail.

Through lawyer Ayesha Khalid, Akbar presented the petition indicating that access to the PTI founder was denied during a scheduled visit. The plea asks the court to order the prison superintendent to allow the meeting.
