The president of PTI, Gohar Ali Khan, confirmed that the president of the president of Pakistan, Yahya Afridi, advised the former ruling party to “operate within the system” and not resort to the boycott policy.
Gohaha was part of a PTI delegation that met with Judge Afridi on Friday. The meeting took place a couple of days after the CJ met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the meeting, the party had transmitted to Judge Afridi that he did not recognize the 26th constitutional amendment, the same amendment that raided the way for the appointment of Judge Afridi as the main judge, and urged him to refrain from “judicial packaging.”
The delegation had also urged the President of the Supreme Court to “put their home in order” and guarantee the rule of law and the Constitution in the country, stating that the justice system had been reduced to an “crime instrument” under its surveillance And it was his responsibility to fix it.
In response to a question regarding the discussions that took place during the rare interaction, Gohar admitted that the CJ advised them to “operate within the system.”
“We meet with the president of the Supreme Court yesterday. Our charges against the government is quite extensive. We are not very satisfied with the Judiciary.
“During the meeting, we present our concerns regarding the judicial attitude. Treating the PTI in this way is not fair for democracy or for the rule of law,” he said while talking to journalists from the Islamabad district courts.
The lawyer Gohar said that a delegation of a nascent alliance of opposition parties has gone to Karachi.
“We are forming an alliance with all opposition parties. The movement aims to defend the Constitution and avoid the vote rig. Political parties have their own manifesto and internal processes, so such movements take time,” he said.
He said that the PTI had initiated negotiations with the PML-N government with an open heart, waiting for a resolution through dialogue. However, the government did not take it seriously and acted hurriedly.
Answering a question regarding the politician of the fire brand Sher Afzal Marwat, who was expelled from the PTI recently, Gohar Ali Khan said it was an internal party issue. “We follow due process when someone violates the discipline of the party,” he said.
