The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) has predicted a new rain spell throughout the country from Monday.

According to the PMD, a western weather system is expected to enter Pakistan, bringing rain in several regions. Hail storms are probably in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

The department has also predicted snowfall in the northern areas during this period, with the expected rain in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from February 25.

In addition, the PMD warned of sudden floods and the risk of landslides in mountainous areas. Tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary trips for security reasons.

Meanwhile, Karachi is likely to experience mostly cloudy skies, bringing colder conditions compared to the previous days.

According to the Met Office, Karachi will see different wind instructions in the next three days. Winds of the Northeast of Baluchistan are expected during the night and the first hours of the morning, while the Southwest Sea Breeze will dominate in the afternoon.

Residents are recommended to be prepared for sudden changes in temperature and visibility, especially during the early morning, when fog can affect traffic.
