Islamabad:
The permanent committee of the Senate on water resources expressed serious concerns about the lack of details about the invasions along the rivers and river routes.
The officials informed the committee that, according to the data provided by Supparco, the main invasions in Punjab had not been eliminated after August 2024. A report presented by Supparco in February 2025 identified 153 invasions in the Sargodha Irrigation Zone and 676 in the finer irrigation zone.
An FFC representative said that all invasions had been eliminated before August 2024, but could not provide data to corroborate this statement.
