Buffalo Sabres Locker Rob Ray had a moment of hot microphone during Saturday’s game against the New York Rangers after an album was put in the face among the banks.
The unfortunate incident caught the legend of the Sabres by surprise at the end of the opening period.

“Ah, F —“, shouted Ray of pain.

The players and a team doctor quickly went to see Ray, who had a visible wound on his left eye and on the bridge of his nose.
Later in the transmission, Ray said he received a “pair of small stitches” in the area of the eyebrow, but finally avoided any important injury to his eye.
“That is not normal,” he joked about him “Golf Bag” Bull of size on his face.

Ray is no stranger to injuries, neither among banks nor in the ice.
He accumulated 3,207 minutes of penalty in his 14 seasons with the Sabres organization, establishing a franchise record. His time dedicated to the box also occupies the sixth place on the NHL race list.
Ray’s fighting style even led the league to introduce a new rule in which the players who fought without their shirts obtained misconduct from the game. The former NHL veteran would wear tears t -shirts, giving him an advantage essentially releasing his arms during the fights.
As for his time at the transmission stand, Saturday was not the first time that Ray was the victim of a dishonest album.

In a December 2023 game, Ray was again beaten, almost identically, with an album just among his eyes.
In both cases, he returned to action immediately. Ray was included in the Sabres Hall of Fame last month.
