In a press release, Warner Bros. Discovery has finally announced when its HBO Max transmission service will be launched in Australia, and it is long before it could have imagined.
Max will come to Australia on March 31, putting it inside the “First half of next year” stadium provided by WBD in September.
This means that Max will be the first call to see the second season of The last of us – which will debut exclusively at the streamer on April 14, as well as other next programs such as He: Welcome to Derry and A gentleman of the seven kingdoms, that develops in the world of game of Thrones.
Max will be launched with a range of subscription levels, including Premium, Standard and an option with advertisements. How much these levels will not have been revealed.
Together with Max, WBD and Foxtel they also announced the turn of a new page in their association. This new chapter will see Foxtel’s subscribers with IQ3, IQ4 or IQ5 devices connected to the Internet will get access to the basic plan with ADS Max for free. There is still no official statement about what Max’s arrival means, the current home of HBO content in Australia, but there is a key element of this news that leads us to believe that it might not be brilliant.
