Washington: The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said on Wednesday that his administration will soon announce a 25% tariff on imports from the European Union, he reported Reuters.

“We have made a decision, and we will announce it very soon, and it will be 25% in general terms, and that will be in cars and all things,” Trump told reporters during a meeting of his cabinet.

The EU has a 10% rate in passenger cars, four times the rate of the American passenger cars rate of 2.5%. American officials have also complained about European value added taxes of at least 17.5%.
