Pakistan is observing the sixth anniversary of “Operation Swift Rett”, an important military victory of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) against India.

On February 27, 2019, the PAF successfully demolished a combat aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) on Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), after a series of provocative actions of India.

The events prior to the operation began a day before when India violated the control line (LOC) during its “Balakot strikes” sending military airplanes to Pakistani airspace.

After India dropped a payload in an open area, the PAF responded by sending airplanes through the LOC, broadcasting warning shots and locking up in Indian military positions.

When India tried to retaliate sending more airplanes, the PAF successfully demolished two Indian planes in an aerial fight.

One of the Indian pilots, the Ala Abhinandan Varthaman commander, was arrested and then released as a gesture of good will.

In recognition of their bravery, PAF pilots who knocked down the Indian aircraft received military honors, including Sitara-E-Jur’at (value star) for WG CMDR Noman Ali Khan and Tamgha-E-Jur’at (Value Medal) for the captain of the Faheem Faheem Ahmad Khan and Sq Ldonsan Mahmood Siddiqui group.

The operation marked a powerful message about Pakistan’s commitment to safeguard his sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He also demonstrated the operational excellence and the preparation of the armed forces of Pakistan, reaffirming their ability to deter aggression and maintain control over the region.

In this anniversary, the maximum military leadership of Pakistan, including the president of the Joint Committee of Personnel Chiefs (CJCSC), General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, paid tribute to the courage and professionalism of the Armed Forces. They reiterated the dedication of the nation to guarantee security and contribute to regional peace.

Military leadership emphasized its continuous preparation to address any threat to national security, ensuring that Pakistan people guarantee that trust imposed on them. Forces are still vigilant in their search for peace, stability and harmony both within the country and beyond its borders.

On the other hand, public relations between services (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, has launched a patriotic anthem entitled Dushmanna Sunn to commemorate six years from the replica of Operation Swift, a key moment in Pakistan’s defense history.

The Hymn lyrics were written on Ahmed Azeem, while Kamran Allah Khan composed and played the song.

ISPR described the launch as a “roar against any adversary” and a reminder that Pakistan would decisively respond to any aggression.

The replica of Operation Swift remains a decisive moment in Pakistan’s military history, often cited as an example of the country’s preparation against external threats.

The anniversary serves as a reaffirmation of its strategic defense and deterrence policies.
