Matt McGloin, a former University Soccer Star and NFL Campo Marshal, was scheduled to be part of the coaching staff in the Boston College from 2025, but renounced abruptly to less than three days at work.
Boston College football coach Bill O’Brien told ESPN that McGloin resigned from his position as a program offensive analyst for family reasons. McGloin was the seafarence of the head of Penn State in 2012, when O’Brien was the chief coach.

McGloin issued a statement about the decision. ESPN reported Monday that he was hired to be in O’Brien’s staff.
“This week I made a difficult decision and changed my life without full awareness of the consequences I would have on my wife and little children,” he said, through Times-Tribune.
“I really believed that my decision to accept a role in Boston would be good for my family, but when considering more, the moment of such movement proved to be less than optimal. I appreciate his respect for the privacy of my family and I at this time.”

The document pointed out that McGloin resigned as a County Commissioner of the County of Lackawanna before, according to the reports, he decided to take the job in Boston College. It was not clear if I was going to try to claim that position.
McGloin joined Penn State as a first -year student in 2009, when Joe Paterno remained the chief coach. He emerged as a starter in 2010, sharing time with Rob Bolden.
He broke out during his senior season with 3,271 air yards and 24 touchdown passes.
McGloin joined the Oakland Raiders in 2013 and was with them for four seasons. It appeared in 13 games and had 1,868 aerial yards and 11 touchdown passes.

He did not find the NFL field after the 2016 season. He briefly played at the XFL with the Guardians of New York.
