Only a couple of weeks have passed since the New York Jets revealed their intentions to move from Aaron Rodgers.
“… We met with Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction in Quarterback,” said the newly hired chief coach of the Jets, Aaron Glenn, and General Manager Darren Mougeyy in a joint statement on February 13.
Glenn was in Indianapolis this week for the annual NFL exploration harvester, where he acknowledged that the franchise’s decision to separate from the veteran field marshal left some players of the “annoying” jets.

Quinnen Williams was one of those who seemed to disapprove Rodgers’ departure, with the three -time defensive lin of the PRO Bowl using an emoji thumb down on social networks after news arose from the division. Williams also wrote: “Another year of reconstruction for me, I suppose,” in X, previously known as Twitter, in an apparent reaction to the Jets decision.
Glenn said he had a private discussion with Williams about his reaction. He also made it clear that the priority of jets is to win football games.

“Yes, I’ve talked to him,” Glenn told reporters. “And listen, I understand the players’ reaction, but I will say this: every decision that I and I and I [general manager Darren Mougey] To do is win and win now.
“So, I understand, but again: listen, this will not be the last decision I make that will bother some people, and it’s fine. But as men, we talk about that. We make sure to keep it internally, and that is what we will continue doing.”
After his 2023 campaign was interrupted by an injury, Rodgers played in the 17 games last season. Although it ended with 28 touchdowns against 11 interceptions, its general performance did not seem to meet the expectations of the jets.

The Jets ended with a 5-12 record. Mougey also addressed reports that said Rodgers received a “ultimatum” about his appearances in “The Pat Mcafee Show”.
“I will say this: there was never an ultimatum or rules of commitment so that Aaron would potentially join the airplanes,” Mougey said. “That never happened. Ag and I had many dialogues, many conversations, many good thoughts and we only feel, at the end of the day, it was the best for the Jets to move forward, go in a different direction in the field marshal position.”
Rodgers has not yet made any public comments about its break with the jets. Mougey said the team hopes to designate the person who calls the SUPER BOWL signal as a June 1 cut. The movement allows Jets to divide the salary stop hit for a period of two years.
Also in The Combine, Glenn doubled his statements from his introductory press conference on how to present a high volume of questions related to Rodgers.

“I don’t want to disrespect any of the players in our team, and it seems to me, and some of the other players of what we all talk about,” Glenn said. “You have Quinnen Williams, you have Quincy Williams, you have an AVT [Alijah Vera-Tucker] And now you have Joe Tippmann. All those boys must be respected in winning games. “
Rodgers’ departure leaves the Jets Field Marshal. The veteran Tyrod Taylor backup remains under contract with the team. Glenn described Taylor as “a good player”, but it was not declared him as the team headline for 2025.
Jets currently have selection No. 7 in the NFL draft next month.
