Aj Brown’s sixth season at the NFL was probably the most memorable. The open receiver All-Pro offered a third consecutive season of 1,000 yards and was a key part of the Philadelphia Eagles race to a Super Bowl title.
Before making the jump to the NFL, Brown ended up with just under 3,000 yards for reception with the rebels Ole Miss during his time as a university football star.
While Brown has become one of the best players of his sport, there was a time when he contemplated a different path.

The three times PRO Bowler stood out in football and baseball in Starkville High in Mississippi. He also played in the Under Armor High School 2015 all-americ baseball game.
Brown admitted that he was alarmed by the launching skills of pitchers who competed in that game, which led to his decision to follow football.

“I will tell you when I made the decision to play football. I am in the right garden. I am in the game All-America in Chicago. The first was like 97 (MPH): 97 of the tear? Usually, I face 85,” Brown explained during a recent appearance in the “Million Dollaz Worthing of Game” podcast.

“However, we are still in high school. So, all these are high school players, and these boys will probably go first round. I see him throwing an out of speed, and it is like a 90 mph ball. I’m going to see if I can go here and hit this.”
Brown attracted the interest of the MLB teams, and San Diego’s parents selected him in one of the posterior rounds in 2016. Brown, however, chose to attend the university in his native Mississippi and take the football route. Brown obtained the first team’s All-Sec honors twice during his outstanding race in Ole Miss.

Earlier this month, the explorer of the parents area, Stephen Moritz, remembered Scouting Brown a decade ago and saw his elite athletics.
“You’re never sure,” Moritz told MLB.com. “As explorers, you are wrong more often than you are right. But it was as sure as it could be [that] He was going to be a good gardener. It was going to be great in the garden. There was too much athletics. There was natural ability. You add all your tools together, that was what I had enough confidence. This guy will be a good gardener in the big leagues. “
In 2020, Brown detailed how baseball helped him mold the football player today.
“He caught the ball with his eyes,” Brown told ESPN. “Baseball really helped me with that for football. When you are tracking a ball, especially a deep ball, it helped me a lot. I played in the central garden in baseball. In a deep pass in football, you judge it and track it like a central gardener.”
The Tennessee Titans selected Brown in the second round of the 2019 NFL draft and changed it to the Eagles during the NFL 2022 draft.
