The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) has predicted storms with rain for several cities of Sindh, while Karachi will experience dry climate in the next few days.
According to the early warning center, a new Western wind system will enter the country from Sunday, said Express News.
This meteorological system is expected to bring light rain and touch with thunder to the districts in the rural area of Sindh, including Qamber Shahdokot, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Larkana and Sukkur. The rain is expected to occur on the night of March 2 and the morning of March 3.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, dry climate is expected for Sunday and Monday, with temperatures ranging from 19 to 21 degrees Celsius. The Department of Meteorology predicts that Karachi will experience moderate to strong winds on Monday, but there is no prognosis for rain.
The maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to remain between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius in the next three days. Although the city will not see rain, the weather will be warm with sunny intervals.
PMD has also predicted rain through Punjab from March 2 to 4, offering a breath of the warmest temperatures during the first days of the Sacred Month of Ramadan.
According to the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the rain will affect most districts, including Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab and Mandi Bahauddin. Lahore, Sheikhupura, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Nanowal, Faisalabad and Toba Tek Singh is also expected to experience rain.
Shows are also forecast for southern regions such as fine, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, Khanewal, Layyah, Bhakkar, Sahiwal and Pakpattan.
In the mountainous areas of Murree and Garyat, rain and snowfall are expected. The general director of PDMA, Irfan Ali Khatia, has issued an alert to local authorities to remain attentive and be prepared for possible interruptions.
The PDMA has also notified the key departments, including WASA, rescue, irrigation and cattle, to stay on alert. Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary trips during inclement weather. The PDMA control room is actively monitoring the situation, and the help line (1129) is available for emergencies.
Temperatures in Lahore have fallen after the recent rain and snowfall, with the city registering a minimum of 10 ° C. The weather is expected to remain cold and dry over the next two days, with another rain system ready for March 3.
