A scheduled meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the president of the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, was delayed on Monday, said Express News on Monday.
Bilawal, who was expected to arrive in Islamabad today, will postpone his visit due to “concern for some important issues,” according to party experts.
Now the two leaders are expected to meet in the next few days.
Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today.
The president of the PPP had to attend a high -level meeting of coalition parties that will be chaired by the Prime Minister in the Federal Capital.
During the meeting of the coalition matches in which the key leaders of the parties would participate, Bilawal would communicate the concerns of their party about the violation of an agreement that the PPP and the Prime Minister, the PML-N, signed to share the power after the general elections of February 8, 2024.
The meeting was established to address several pressing concerns, including governance issues and PPP dissatisfaction on the allocation of funds to its legislators in Punjab.
The PPP has been increasingly vocal about its reserves with respect to the administration led by PML-N.
Last week, PPP legislators in Punjab transmitted their complaints to President Asif Ali Zardari in Lahore, complaining that the PML-N had left them aside in decision making.
President Zardari is also expected to get involved with PML-N leadership in an attempt to solve problems.
